Here is my 1973 Corvette t-top coupe. It was originally orange with black deluxe interior, but has since been repainted to midnight blue. It has the original L-48 350 ci 190 hp V-8 engine with matching numbers. Its options include: custom interior trim, power windows, air conditioning, power brakes, Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 automatic transmission, power steering and AM/FM radio stereo.

I have always liked sports cars, and was brought up with a Chevrolet in the garage. Naturally when I was home for summer break and learned a local person had his '73 Corvette for sale I was interested. I never really knew much about Corvettes before that point, and had only a minimal interest. After driving it around I fell in love. I ended up purchasing my first car, and my first Corvette in July 1998. Since then my dad and I have been working on replacing parts due to years of neglect. My dad has done most of the work since I am at the Naval Academy, or tied up with the Navy year around. I do love working on it and learning about every aspect of how it works.

I am the third owner and, though originally purchased in Illinois, the car has spent most of its life in an Arizona garage. The car has over 100,000 miles since it was originally used daily.

Right now I am leaving almost everything stock. Personally, it fascinates me how times have changed in style and technology in the past 26 years and I would like my vette to be a little reminder of that. I would gladly give up some of the current "creature comforts" to be able to enjoy this true classic. Besides the paint, the only thing which is not original or stock are the American Racing wheels. The major things I plan on doing to it include: complete strip down to the engine and rebuild heads, a new Comp cam, an Edlebrock carburetor, an MSD ignition system, minor body work and a fresh coat of orange paint.
